It is amazing the amount of archaeological sites that we can find in the outskirts of the ancient empire. Worship sites, intihuatanas, reservoirs, ditches, fountains and springs, cultivation terraces, carved rocks, roads and channels. Apparently, the entire plain, with its rocky places, hillocks, hills and its natural hydraulic system, has a sacred character.
The enormous historical richness of Cusco, is the result of the great amount of archaeological sites comprised within its outskirts. Places covered by the characteristic mysticism of the Incan religion and which include worship sites, intihuatanas, ditches, springs, cultivation terraces, carved rocks, roads, channels, among others.
