The Valleumbroso House is located in Marques street, it has a facade of huge dimensions of the transition period. In this area, they built a large house of Renacentist style where the "Escuela de Bellas Artes" (Art Academy) currently works in.

In one of the main axis of the city, that one leading to San Francisco and Santa Clara from The Compañia, we find Marquez street. It is named like that after the large house that was the main house of the Marquis San Lorenzo de Vallembroso. The family Esquivel and Jarava, owners of this building in 1560, received this title.


A real large House
The Esquivels, important owners of houses and farms, became the richest family of the city at the middle of the XVII century. This situation was revealed on the size of their house, without any doubt the biggest and best built in the baroque style of Cusco. The facade, though it is serious, has also a monumental style. Its two bodies, joint by pilasters in different surfaces are organized around the trapezoid embrasure of the entrance showing its Inca past.
